BE FIRE SAFE!

The BMFPD Auxiliary and Firefighters are working together to help our neighbors update their safety equipment and learn how to operate it.

BMFPD Chief John Benson selected fire extinguishers and CO/fire detectors for reliability and ease of use. Our friends at McGuckin Hardware gave us great group-buy pricing so BMFPD residents can update their gear at below-retail prices. A small markup benefits the BMFPD volunteer fire department.

UPDATE YOUR FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

Extinguishers go dry or need service periodically – how old are the ones in your home? Bring them to the station to be inspected.

Chief Benson has selected two chemical fire extinguishers that are easy to use anywhere in the home, on any type fire. We also offer a pressurized-water cannister extinguisher that is refillable and usable for years to come; it's good for wood, paper, fabric fires.

UPDATE YOUR SMOKE and co DETECTORS

The sensors in detectors fail over time. Pick up a new smoke detector with a 10 year warranty and a 10 year battery – or pick up a couple. Current Boulder County code calls for detectors in every bedroom and on every level.

Current Colo. law calls for Carbon Monoxide (CO) detectors in homes using propane or natural gas, OR with attached garages. Get a simple plug-in model with a digital display and a 7-year warranty PLUS we’ll give you 10-year battery.

DISPLAY YOUR HOME ADDRESS

Be sure your address sign can be read by responders coming from both directions, and at night. We have reflective address signs that can make a big difference in an emergency. "Mount it right or be out of sight."

Chief Benson says, “ If we can’t find you, we can’t help you.” If your reflective house numbers have disappeared over the years, get a new kit.

FIRE SAFETY BY THE BOOK - BUY THE BOOK

District Resident and author Clyde Soles tells you everything you can imagine wanting to know about fire safety in our homes, in the forest, in our cars. Learn about mitigation and fire-fighting tools. Don't miss the worst-case scenario chapter!

Bleeding Control Kit

The number one cause of preventable death after injury is bleeding.  BMFPD’s Bleeding Control kit was assembled with the direction and approval of the BMFPD medical responders and Chief Benson. The kit is less costly and more comprehensive than some commercially-available bleeding control kits. It contains items typically not found in home first aid kits.

We will deliver your products to your home.
